Do I have to have a doctor’s prescription for physical therapy?

In most cases, you need to have a doctor’s prescription for physical therapy. While doctors and surgeons often prescribe therapy for their patients, many others come to ACE Rehab because they want to improve their sports performance. On your first visit, or when you call to make an appointment, we will be able to tell you if you need to see your doctor before beginning therapy.

What types of therapy do you offer?

In addition to general physical therapy, we are skilled in post-operative recovery, industrial and work place injury rehabilitation and sports injury/sports performance services. Your needs will be met with a program that’s tailored made for you.

What will therapy cost and will my insurance pay?

Costs vary because of the types of therapy you may need and the length of time you spend with us. In many cases, health insurance pays for part or all of your therapy sessions.

What should I expect on my first visit and what should I wear?

We’ll review your medical history, show you around the facility and begin therapy treatments that are appropriate for your condition. Wear comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers every time you come.

Will therapy hurt and make me sore?

New exercises and movements may make you a little sore. Our goal is for you to recover with as little discomfort as possible.

How long will my physical therapy visit last and how often will I come?

After the first visit, sessions usually run about an hour, depending on your condition or injury. Most patients come for treatment one to three times a week.

About how long will I be in therapy?

It will depend on your condition or injury and your determination to get back to normal as soon as possible.

Can I use more than one of your locations for my sessions?

Yes. Sometimes it may be more convenient to use an ACE Rehab location closer to work or home, depending on your schedule. We’ll help you work out a schedule that works best for you.

What if I can’t meet my therapy session and need to cancel?

Always call and let us know, even if you find out just minutes before your appointment that you can’t make it. By calling, we’ll know you’re OK and can reschedule your session.
